I am so pleased to be able to share news about my third(?!) cookbook, I’ll Bring Dessert. Typing that out still blows my mind a little but after just over a year in the making, it’s very nearly here!
So what’s it all about?
I’m a dessert girl through and through. If I’m going over to a friends for dinner or lunch and they ask me to bring something, nines times out of ten, I’ll offer to bring dessert. It’s my favourite part of a meal and is a truly joyful experience. The anticipation of dessert is what I find most exciting. It lets you know that the night isn’t quite over; it hints that you can linger a little longer at the table, pour another wine or get the kettle on and continue those juicy deep chats.
Deciding what to bring for dessert can be a tricky job and will induce a quiet panic for most people as they rack their brains on what to make. When I was first developing the idea for this book, I asked followers on Instagram what their go-to’s were if they were asked to take a pudding. By far, the most popular choices were cheesecake (of all varieties), tiramisu, cookies and some sort of apple pie or crumble. All fantastic choices. But lots of people also expressed how easy it was to get stuck in a rut and I’ve often felt the same too.
I’ll Bring Dessert is filled with 70 recipes to help give you some inspiration and new recipes for desserts and bakes you can bring to all sorts of gatherings, lunches, dinner parties, potlucks and everything in between. Chapters are split into: Something Fruity, Something Creamy, Something Nutty, Something Chocolatey and Something on the Side so there literally is something for every mood and occasion.
The book is available for pre order now and will be published on the 11th of April! You’ve probably heard authors go on and on about preorders but they do make such a difference. They signal interest in a book and will often determine how retailers promote it. I like to think of it as putting your name down on a waiting list. You won’t get charged until the book is released and if the price drops up until then , you’ll pay the lowest price!
